6 months since we said goodbye

The 5th November was 6 months since we said goodbye to Magnum.  Some days it feels like a lifetime ago and other days it feels like yesterday.

The incessant ache in my heart is a little more bearable.  I do smile, I laugh, I am happy. And I do love. Things I thought I would never do again 🙂

Our newest family member, Ruby, gives us so much joy.  Both my husband and I didn’t know if we could allow another dog into our hearts again without feeling guilty, but we can.  Magnum knows how much we loved her, still love her.  Loving Ruby doesn’t diminish what we shared with Magnum.  It honours it.

Making this video was harder than I thought it would be.  So many memories of the wonderful almost 10 years that Magnum and I shared together.  She was such a happy, loving, loyal, courageous and cheeky girl.  I am such a better person for having loved her and been loved by her.

This video is for you my beautiful girl …. I miss you…..

About princess

Almost 10 year old loyal and courageous rottie! 30 May 2002 to 5 May 2012 Lost her leg to osteosarcoma on 1st Sep 2011 and did 6 rounds of chemo with carboplatin. 3 lung mets found in Mar 2012 and 1 month of Palladia done before it was stopped due to GI issues. But it was metastasis to the back right hip that finally took our little girl on 5th May 2012. She was happy, contented, relaxed and very loved when she peacefully slipped away in her mum's loving arms.

What a touching tribute you made to your sweet Magnum. Such a beautiful girl with a sweet soul. Magmun was lucky to have such a loving Mom. I know Magnum still carries that love for you deep in her heart. We are on our final journey with Cadence. I hope Magnum is there to greet her when she reaches her final destination.

    Karen,
I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I LOVE this video tribute to and of magnum and the awesome, full on life she LIVEd. I’m inspired to do one for Bruno and am already trying to piece it together. It helps bring a smile to my face but also brings tears of sadness at the loss of him. It’ll be a true labor of love. It will help the heart heal. What a great theme song for life.
